Tech Tips

When ordering 92-up or race corner seal springs, request the RX8 stock heavy springs. They are the equivalent dimensions and spring tension as the 93 factory twin turbo spring, but are approximately half of the cost. (see our Engine Products or visit the Online Store.)

Due to poor availability to the main engine wiring harness for the JDM (right hand drive) third-generation RX7's, (92-up) many owners spend countless hours attempting to repair their charred or crispy wiring harness. REC has these wiring harnesses in stock. (see out JDM Section or visit the Online Store.)

When removing your engine from your third-generation RX7 (92-up) North American or JDM model, REC always recommends to firstly remove your transmission. It is then recommended to disconnect your engine wiring harness from the ECU and then to fish your harness through the firewall, leaving it attached to the engine while it is extracted from the car.

If you are experiencing knocking or detonation in your third-generation RX7, (92-up) yet notice no fuel system issues of lean mixture conditions, REC recommends four essential ignition components which may cure this problem and provide future reliability.
1) a new set of quality platinum spark plugs.
2) a new ignition coil wiring harness.
3) a new set of quality spark plug wires.
4) a new factory leading ignition coil.
* All of the above parts combined make up a performance ignition upgrade package which REC sells at discounted prices. (see the Products Section of visit the Online Store.)

If you are planning to or already have replaced your rotary vehicles exhaust system, DO NOT throw out the catalytic converters, REC will either buy them from you, or give you credit towards your replacement system. They are valuable and with our connections we can turn them into cash for you. Prices or credits offered will vary but in most cases we can show you a minimum of $60-$80 depending on the model of car and current market values, we have see prices as high as $160.
